Meaning
by Don Fernando

Well, one could go on all night! But to me, the meaning would have to be the search for reality, ultimate reality. What can be proven as true? We can see that only the Bible passes all acid tests, despite the critics over centuries. It's prophetic record is 100%, etc. No other 'system' has its founder stating "I AM God Almighty." Other founders are just teachers, or prophets. Their systems cannot pass the acid tests of history, science ... and they don't have 100% prophetic batting averages, or anything near!
And so the meaning is to look into who is this God? And what about this God who is personally approachable as 'Man' -- Jesus... and the Holy Spirit who is always with us ... with God the Father? How do owe know him?
The question of pre-trib/mid/post illustrates the complexity of study. Solid scholars differ, but they usually agree that the most important focus should always be on Christ and what He did and does.... so I ask God to open my eyes and heart, and to teach me. I can learn from others, and their views on the Bible, but ultimately it is God who does everything. If He takes my hand, that's the most important part on finding Meaning in this life. I don't know all the details, but I do 'know' that He is God, and that He isn't a far far away Deity.
So in a nutshell, the Meaning of Life is to walk everyday with God, towards God. We can be slow, or fast, or be lazy or whatever, but that walk is far better than a life without meaning. Atheists come from nothing, life for nothing and go to nothing. Yet their worldview can change if they will sincerely ask God, Are You real? Please ..... and here they can put it in their own words.

Science is most trustworthy
by Jeremy

Interesting article! Very thought-provoking. Here are my thoughts:
1. Religion is too absolute, harsh and dogmatic.
2. Spirituality may have its place in certain respects but it borderlines religion.
3. Philosophy is too subjective based on creativity and empiricism.
4. Science, especially from an evolutionary standpoint, is the greater tried-and-true avenue to explain who we are and where we come from.
Although there are many hypotheses and theories that loosely buttress evolution, I feel that Science is the most trustworthy!
A Comment or Two

You have obviously put a lot of time and effort into this website Scott: I'm impressed. It appears to me that perhaps you were a student of philosophy at university, or perhaps that you study it as a hobby?
Thank you for the opportunity to comment on your Meaning of Life. Not having been at all schooled in philosophy, and having had limited exposure to the great works of philosophy - apart from being raised in a Christian cult, and having read some of the Confucian Analects once - what I have to say may sound ignorant; in my defence, however, I would tender that this lack of exposure to the academia of philosophy has perhaps endowed me with a fresh perspective if nothing else.
I personally disagree with your description of philosophy, along with spiritualism, science and religion, as a belief system. I see philosophy as the overarching "system", under which fall religion, science, spiritualism, and every human "system" you can think of. Philosophy is not a belief, but an attempt to come up with the best possible explanation for the Universe, mankind, and his place in it. Unlike a belief system, it is not dogmatic, but rather, it is like a hypothesis which can change in light of new information or better analytics.
Science is merely a branch of philosophy: philosophers define science and set its parameters; theology is the branch of philosophy that deals with God and man's relation with Him. Politics is the branch of philosophy which deals with society and governance. Religion is what happens when you combine the two; and spirituality is the philosophy of metaphysics.
The great philosophers of the past were also the inventors, statesmen, doctors, architects, engineers; they were men - and perhaps women also - of truly great intellect. Maybe the world has completely changed and I'm living in some idealised golden-age-past.
A final note on the origins of religion: I'm fairly certain the figure of 10,000ya is out of date. Scientists have pushed the figure back tenfold. (or at least 6-fold: see Matt Rosanno 2009)
God comes 1st!! Charles Darwin is burning in Hell!

God is not religion! He is the Almighty Creator and he sent his son Jesus Christ to die upon the cross of Calvary. There is only one God and his son Jesus saved us from sin. This is what the Bible teaches and the Bible does not lie.
There is not one mistake in the Bible. So if that is true, and it is, then we must follow it to a tee. That is our answer right now. Many people do not follow the Bible and because of that they are lost and believe in stupidity of Charles Darwin who is in hell right now burning. Why would you want to follow evolution and Charles Darwin?
Many people think that they are smart just like the liberals, but they are not. The Bible says "the fool has said in his heart that there is no God." Fools are dunces and are not smart.
Repent of your wicked ways, except Jesus as your Lord and Savior, read God's word, believe in it, and get filled with the Holy Ghost. God will have mercy on you!
Life is Learning for Spiritual Growth
by Giordan

The Meaning of Life is "Learning for Spiritual Growth." Learning through your own Perspective first: through joys and strife. Then Understanding the Perspectives of others, who are also learning from their own conflicts. Eventually Realizing that all of our Perspectives are no better than any other, because we all are spirits here to learn. Yet we all see things slightly different. We grow from our experiences and from what we learn here. We develop Compassion for each other. Time and Cause and Effect changes our Perspectives, as does growing in our experiences changes how we view Reality. Our memories from our Perspectives are what makes each and everyone of us unique spiritually, yet part of a Universal existence of Consciousness.
