The benefits of being confident will put you in an advantageous position in this wonderful journey that we call life. There are many attendant premiums that come along with being self-confident. One could literally go on and on regarding these tremendous benefits that can impact your life for the better.
In this 2nd part of a three-part series on confidence, I go into five of the great attributes that come along with one carrying themselves with confidence.
Those that live with a high level of self-confidence, can take on the
challenges of life more effectively, dispel any trepidation or fear that may
hinder progress and enable one to take control of their lives.
The following are some powerful benefits of being confident that are a must for you to
realize your goals and accomplish your dreams:
1. Happiness - Self-confident people are in an advantageous position to enjoy happiness. They manage stress efficiently, control their own emotions,
behaviors, and feelings with greater responsibility. This is important and
meaningful as one is endeavoring to reach higher levels of success and make an
impact in the world today.
Confident people are go getters and usually have specific goals forecasted and as a result of their belief in themselves
they accomplish much; therefore concluding in a more joyous mental state. They
are comfortable with the opposite sex, by initializing conversation which
can lead to fulfilling romantic relationships and ultimately a happy family.
A confident person has the courage and belief within his or herself to tackle any problem with great vigor and tenacity. With problems come stress, fear and pain. This results in the releasing of endorphins, which are the feel-good hormones regulated by the hypothalamus which is the command and control center of your endocrine system and central nervous system.
Everyone experiences stress, fear and pain, but the confident man or woman has the inner strength to handle them properly which leads to greater happiness and success. This becomes a blissful cycle of euphoric feeling as endorphins are also released when you smile, laugh, exercise, think positively, etc. These are all characteristics of confident people.
All of these scenarios mentioned above result in happiness. Happiness is one of
the great benefits of being confident.
2. Leadership Qualities -
Professional athletes have it. Generals possess it. It exudes from politicians.
What is it? The belief in self!
There is safety in numbers. This holds true for civilized people and also in
the wild. This is why militaries are formed and certain animals travel in
packs. There is always a natural “pecking” order from the least ranking to the
highest ranking general in any military establishment or animal pack. The
leader is determined and everybody else falls in line.
This leader is the alpha male and decides where they travel, who and when they
fight, he gets the best cuts of meat, and the pick of the litter. What
characteristic does he possess? Unbridled self-confidence!
A leader one that the followers confide in. They trust his or her judgment.
They are risk takers because they believe in that which they are doing is the
right thing and it will garner much accomplishments.
3. Most Successful - Regarding the many benefits of being confident success is the most important. Because, what ever we are endeavoring to do we want to achieve it.
True success
emanates from doing the things that you believe in with continual meaningful
action. Success is too many times measured as monetary gain, but this is not always true. To be genuinely successful is for one to set forth a plan in action and accomplish it, regardless what that goal may be.
A confident person is not afraid to fail or make mistakes. Because,
deep down inside he or she truly knows that the mistake is not a failure,
rather a learning process.
Self-confident people are not afraid of rejection. They realize that if they
are rejected in some capacity it’s not necessarily their fault but those who
were not intuitive enough to recognize their talents and capabilities.
They have this deep resolve that they can pick up the pieces and move on to
achieve higher levels of success. These attributes make great salespeople and a
host of other professions.
4. Money - An individual
that is self-confident is one that earns the most money. This holds true in the
corporate world and entrepreneurship. They believe in the product, service or
commodity that they are marketing and they also trust in their personal
abilities, qualities and judgment to be successful.
In any field of endeavor, covering the gamut from actors, school teachers,
entrepreneurs, athletes, public orators, politicians, etc. are successful and
proficient in their respective careers as a result of self-confidence. Peak performance
is experienced when one has a deep belief within his or herself. These type of
individuals actually increase in confidence as a result of conquering new
mountains and higher levels of attainment. They know how to build confidence on
top of what is already established. Furthermore, they radiate this dynamic
attribute and this aura is powerfully persuasive which results in greater
promotions and raises. Show me a person with money and I’ll show you a
confident person.
5. Sex Appeal - There is
an unbridled sexiness when one is confident. There is something about this
energy that captivates the opposite sex. I am not referring to an arrogant
person, but rather one that knows what he or she wants in life and will not
allow any insecurities stop it. A confident person is someone that loves his or
herself and as a result of such, possesses the capacity to love another
person.
Harvard psychologist. Craig Malkin, Ph.D.
buttresses the claim that self-confident people are more attractive when he
states, “The kind of confidence we’re talking about really comes down to
feeling good about your appearance and attractiveness,” says “Men and women
both prefer a confident date, for a number of reasons.”
This type of individual can attract members of the opposite sex, even though
his or her physical looks may be average or below. For example, consider Jay Z
or Mick Jagger, in my estimation they are some of the most non-attractive
performers today. However, Jay-Z is worth $550 million and Mick Jagger’s net
value is 350 million. You always see them with beautiful women. Jay-Z with Beyoncé
and Mick Jagger with a host of supermodels. These men and those like them
attract members of the opposite sex which is one of the tremendous benefits of
being confident.
As illustrated above, the benefits of being confident are marvelous to say the
least. Those that have reached high apexes of success are the ones that have a
strong belief in self. They carry themselves with uninhibited self-esteem and
self-confidence.
